There is something wonderful about the marshes in Maine and the stillness of the water. I'm working with a more muted palette and this painting was challenging as most of the colors needed gray. I absolutely love gray cloudy days and the possibility of rain.

Hi Carol, it was last October when the weather was perfect! I'm doing several paintings from that trip. I will go back next year, same time.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I keep photographing the grasses on Cousins Island for the same reason - there's something about that beautiful contrast in texture. And I love shadows.... :-) I'm so happy to see that you are painting!
